Re: Why almosteverybody to this forum have made corneal transpla

You allege that the forum promotes corneal transplants as the only form of treatment. If cared to take the time to actually read through the 3344 topics and 37095 posts you would realise that all treatments are taken into consideration and equal emphasis is given. On a similar note you are promoting...

Re: Some INTACS questions from a newbie.

I cannot say at this stage there has been a great improvement (although the NICE report does say that outcomes and benefit times are variable. What are other peoples experiences? Because the cornea is going to be changing I can...

Re: All these questions....

PA Depending on your age, there is every possibility that you KC will hardly progress; the progression curve for KC is exponential with the most progression seen in the teen years. Re: Did I cause KC by rubbing my eyes as a child?

Hi Max and welcome. That's the point with KC, as yet the exact cause is unknown. KC could be genetic as John has pointed out. KC could be related to allergies - Hay fever, eczema etc. I suffered from hay fever badly between the ages of 7 to 14, and still suffer from eczema 21 years later which start...

A few months after diagnosis I had to give up driving because my sight had reached the stage where it was no longer safe to drive (actually had been below the required st...

Re: Can bad eye make good eye bad?

I also found that my "good" eye, and brain, had to work harder to compensate for my bad eye. This was most noticeable after surgery on my bad eye.
