Re: CXL update

Denis, Great news on the first eye! Sorry I missed your post. Am so happy that things are going ok with the right eye. That sounds so positive! Hoping that it goes as well for the left :D I'm guessing that it is more comfortable now as your post was almost a week ago? Best of luck with everything! L...

Re: A tarnished reputation

Liz, Moorfields hospital has started sending text messages to remind you of an appointment and they are asking patients to sign up for it. I get a message about 3 days before my appointment which includes a telephone number for you to call if you are unable to attend. This has been going for quite a...

Re: Piggy Backing

Lia, Hi there! Just thought I'd copy your post and add some comments to make it easier :) i) Are one’s current RGPs used? or does the soft lens underneath mean that a new RGP is required? I have been piggy backing for about 4 years now and it has been the best thing I ever did! I have had a graft in...

Re: Variable sight registration poll

Lynn I fully agree  Ollie - We need to inform the DVLA that we have KC and that we can see well enough to drive even if we do need glasses or lenses. We just have to make sure that we are wearing any aids when driving as our insurance wouldn't be covered without them. When you inform DVLA they ...

Re: Variable sight registration poll

Lynn I apologise for my earlier post, was just having a down day with MS and nothing related to KC at all  I understand why we are asking people to comment on this poll as we need to see if people do think it is a good idea and feel that they would benefit from having some recognition concerni...

Re: Just a bit of advice, please

Hi there! I go to Moorfields every 6 months to a year, but this is because I wear piggy back lenses and there were a lot of blood vessels showing. They just like to check it often. If your vision is ok, yearly to 18 months sounds ok, just ask for another appointment if your vision changes. Hope that...

Re: Variable sight registration poll

I am not jumping up and down here, for a tiny group I won't hold my breath :( I do not get DLA for MS as I do not have these problems full time. Even though I could hardly walk or get myself dressed for two months due to a relapse, it didn't count. It was not the DLA I wanted, all I was after was a ...
