Hi Hari, this is obviously a technique that worked well for you. It also is intended to not shy away from discussing if the traditional treatments that we all use to combat KC are indeed in our best interests or if they too possibly contribute to the condition. The other day there was a discussion h...

Hi Hari, I see you run two websites largely devoted to mini ARK so it's obviously something to which you're very committed. Apart from your sites I haven't been able to find much about it elsewhere. The majority of articles quoted on both your websites seem to be from the same source of Prof. Lombar...

Moorfields Eye Hospital - "Weak"
Very disappointing to see the Healthcare Commision recently giving Moorfields the lowest possible score for overall quality of services. See here... Described as 'Weak', this places Moorfields with the lowest scoring 8.8% of hospital trusts throughout England. Moorfields describes itself as a leadin...

If, as seems, the incidence of KC is influenced by ethnic origin then I'd expect some correlation to hair colour. Hair colour is an indicator of race just as are facial features and skin colour. Blonde hair would suggest European origins but black hair could indicate origins that were Celtic or from...

:D On the point you made though Alison, I'm sure you're right that the evidence would need to be very strong before the case was popularly accepted. The industry would do all it could to produce counter evidence and finance any research that helped its cause. There's no financial incentive to prove ...

In the meantime I would think that the advantages of lens wear far outweigh the althernative which, for many of us, would have been legal blindness at a much earlier stage. Andrew, you are presumably referring to the advantages of lenses for those with KC. Alison may be referring to the wider use o...

All I would say with my very limited knowledge and experience is that the belief of some eminent experts in the field that long-term use of contact lenses may be a factor in some incidences of KC is a plausible hypothesis that shouldn't be summarily dismissed without substantial contradictory eviden...

Therefore perhaps we both ahve been talking at cross purposes. Hi Garath, could be. I know Stephen Tuft has been looking at the genetics of KC. I don’t think it will be an earth-shattering revelation to anyone that a pre-disposition to KC is likely to be genetic. If the occurance of a genetic ...
