Re: Clueless newcomer!!

Hi Samuel, Welcome to the site! I can also relate to your experience. I had been going to high street opticians for a while and it was only when I decided to use a different one (can't remember why) that my KC was picked up. I'd been in the chair about 10 minutes and I was told they couldnt help me,...

Re: Once again..

Yep, i'm with Andrew on that. Go make a newskance of yourself! In my opinion, the 3-4 month appointments are just there to make sure things dont go unnoticed and everytime I've had a problem with my eyes I've also found that I've been fitted in just to make sure everything is ok.

Re: Once again..

Hi DTee, In addition to what Gareth said.. The final posibility is that you could be sensitive to the solutions you use, I can only tolerate one type of solution, others I know can only tolerate preservative free solutions. ..and your own thoughts i've found the solutions have a lot to do with how w...

Re: Been too long.....

Welcome back Piper, Good luck with the new material/lenses. I know from personal experience that lenses vary widly in their comfort and i'm sure you'll end up with a lens that doesnt pull you to the ground in pain. Lenses that i've been fitted with by optometrists who go 'woooo, wonderful fit' have ...

Re: My Intacs Experience

Hi Alice, Welcome to the site (and congrats for joining after watching for so long!) I feel the same about the site as without I don't think I'd know anywhere near as much about my condition as I do, or as in control of the situation as I am. I also tried out sclerals but I wasn't so fortunate - the...

Re: high blood pressure and op dont look like its happening

Hi Cherishu, With 7 kids (I wont ask!) I think I would have hypertension! I'm not far behind you on the operation calendar - I have intacs op for my right eye coming up in November. I've also had two ops for double vision and on both occasions I had the general anesthetic. On coming around from the ...

Re: Have Lenses and a Question

Hi Marc, I must admit, I've never felt like a Mole in the morning but I think I know the experience you're talking of  I only normally get that experience after I've abused my contact lens use - e.g getting up early, driving all day, not drinking much and then staying up late. It usually comes ...

Re: INTACS and the NHS

Hi Tom, Welcome to the site. Just wanted to say straight off the bat, they are your eyes and its your health. If you don't get the help you require then go elsewhere. Stomp your feet, shout and scream! Do whatever you need to do to get the level of care you expect. There are a lot of professionals i...
