Re: Dealing with anxiety and depression from KC

How do you guys deal with the anger that comes with accepting your vision is no longer what it once was and unlikely to ever be again. My right eye was always worse than my right and after crosslinking in october on the right I have noticed ghosting so much more, really regret having the surgery as...

Re: Toric vs Non-Toric

I don't think I've ever tried non-toric!

I've tried many different types, and just for your information, found my current lenses: Bausch + Lomb PureVision 2 (for astigmatism) to be the most comfortable.

Welcome. It's always a struggle! Finding it hard with dry eyes at the moment... always something new to tackle, but stick around for good advice :)

Re: Help me please!!!

Would it be worth getting a regular soft lens just to get you by, if as Anne says the lens in the other eye is good? I know soft lenses don't work for everyone but it might give some improvement and will certainly be quicker to get hold of (and cheaper)

Re: Spare lenses - are they are luxury or a necessity?

I still don't know how I've managed to have around 4 maybe 5 years worth of lenses for free over the NHS!

Kind of worried I'm suddenly going to be hit with a big bill lol

Re: Problem with Optician

Hi everyone: As an optometrist who has devoted a large part of his career taking care of patients with keratoconus, before in Spain and now in the UK, I have to say that making a refraction for spectacles on patients with KCN is very demanding and tricky at the same time. First, as it was told befo...

Re: Ghosting - does it ever get better?

I have found thought that wearing glasses gives me less ghosting at night, maybe that's the best option for me? From everything I have read it seems as though RGP lenses should always give me the best vision, is it at all possible that glasses could instead? I don't know why your glasses are giving...

Re: Keratoconus waiting times on NHS

It's unusual to get such rapid progression after your 30s, but I guess it does happen. As for waiting times... I'm not a ballsy person but I wasn't prepared to muck about when it came to my vision! I stormed into the eye unit and stated politely but with force that I wanted to speak to a manager. I ...

Re: Crosslinking on a healthy eye

Actually, today i was watching some cycling on the TV(40“) and i managed to read the logo of the TV - eurosport and some of the words that were on the TV, so really no idea how my keratoconus is. Can you do that Lia? I am not talking about the small font, but the normal/slightly bigger one. Thanks ...
