Re: Hi, New member, after a bit of advice!
Hi winko! On the soft lenses have you tried switching for another half way through the day to see if that helps? For dryness it can help a bit mainly because the "new" lens is wetter. Also you might want to discuss piggybacking (soft lens with a hard on top) with your consultant (though no...

Re: Crosslinking didn't stop my Keratoconus
Hi buzain, You say T-Cat so was that at Accuvision? I'm surprised, to an extent, that if you could get by without glasses or lenses they went down the T-Cat route. Did they scan you more than once? With for example a 6 month break between? It might be that you were very early stage and so being &quo...

Re: Piggybacking
Hi Grant, Glad you are enjoying them. :) I used piggybacking for quite awhile. For me it was much better than RGPs (was a wow moment) though the wear time was too short for going to work so I've had to change. As for removal you can (well I did...)just go straight to the (easier) soft method (move t...

NICE Guidance on CXL
I'm not sure if this has been put up anywhere else so thought I would put it up. It's the nearly finally final (latest) NICE guidance on CXL. (sorry for the formatting but can't upload a PDF, cut out the worst parts) FIPD for guidance publication, September 2013 Photochemical corneal collagen cross-...

Re: Does anybody know...?
Cherry where do you live? It might be an idea to go for a private consultation with a view to getting CXL'd. The reason I say that at least you'll get scanned and so on (the NHS though it is great in many ways can be, inconsistent). It'll be much quicker and possibly put your mind at ease. Also you ...

Re: New Member + Q re epi-on CXL
Jake, You sound a bit similar to me. As a spectator why the rush? :D Firstly, if not the lenses Anne suggested perhaps piggybacking (soft then hard on top) might help? For me was much nicer than RGP only. Though I'm not at the stage where even that isn't great. Secondly, why epi-on? At one point I w...

Re: Nhs appointment .. What do you think?
That sounds horrible! Also if you need specialist lenses the NHS should provide them. I'd actually consider making a complaint about that (I'm not a complainer but really). If he's providing a similar level of "care" to people then you'd be doing them a service flagging it up.

Re: Does anybody know...?
That would be confusing and annoying! I suppose on the plus side if it is KC it can't be too advanced (though equally could be something else). I assume they took cornea topographies?

Re: Does anybody know...?
Sometimes the diagnosis of early stage KC is difficult to separate from other conditions (especially for example macular degeneration), you might have been initially misdiagnosed, or just sent to confirm it. Was the first person an optician and the second a consultant at hospital? I'm not a professi...

Bobby QureshiThe procedure ensures that the risk of developing serious complications from laser treatment is virtually reduced to zero.
That's a fairly hmm cavalier statement at best?
