Re: Swimming and grafts

Hello Michael, My dad recently had an eye infection prior to going on holiday and had a similar problem of trying to keep his eyes dry whilst the anti-biotics went to work. Anyhow the results of his trying to find suitable eye protection were that he ended up with a set of standard swimming goggles ...

Re: Unable to to wear contact lenses.

Hi LondonExile I'm kind of guessing here as we can't predict what your optometrist will say regarding lens options, if you do get a better or more successful set of RGP lenses however I can tell you that in my case it took me about 2 months to get comfortable with wearing both my left and right cont...

Re: Triumph over adversity - Jason Bourne's got nothing on me :)

I'm usually pretty good at keeping my head out of the action, yesterday was just bad luck and basically being knackered by the end of the session, had had a long day yesterday before getting to training. I've generally got more to worry about with broken bones than black eyes as such. This morning t...

Re: Triumph over adversity - Jason Bourne's got nothing on me :)

Finally had blood drawn yesterday, woohoo got my first war wound haha. The best part of it all though was that this happened at the end of the session in what was supposed to be the cool down period whilst slow-fighting, it was two against one in my instance and I dealt well with the first attacker ...

Re: Four-footed friends (15 hands and otherwise)

All 16 cans for an anaemic horse, yep I bet they were  More like one for you, one for me, one for you, one for me I suspect :D Why can't I be offered some medical advice like that a bit more often, then again the first dentist I went to said I should drink beer rather than soft drinks, I wasn'...

Re: Triumph over adversity - Jason Bourne's got nothing on me :)

Good news & Bad news. Good: I was back into my KM training tonight after 3 weeks out due to nasty something or other of a cold. Bad: Session was being taken by one of the other instructors in the KM group I train with ( Tamas makes you work rather hard before you get a rest), effectively jumping...

Re: Four-footed friends (15 hands and otherwise)

"Moral: keep your mouth shut when you have had a drink or two" LOL, tell me about that one, I drunkenly gave my word last year at uni that I would appear in a nude charity calendar and I stuck to what I had said, fortunately however I had a whole pool table to hide behind unlike the others...

Re: Four-footed friends (15 hands and otherwise)

Nice horse, although both these stories remind me of someone who once said to me that they'd rather have a form of transport that didn't have a mind of its own  Mind you though, I've never been on a horse so I couldn't really comment on what its like to ride one and how the rider and horse work...

Re: Triumph over adversity - Jason Bourne's got nothing on me :)

Should also perhaps define what an (1)outside defence is, (1)it is where you do not essentially go within the arms of the person attacking you. How an an outside knife defence works is if the attacker has the knife in say their right hand, you will be in a (2)semi-passive stance, sort of saying or s...

Re: Triumph over adversity - Jason Bourne's got nothing on me :)

Andrew, I'm still currently on P1, there was a second grading session in April after the February one but that is not enough time to go from P1 to P2, generally need to give it about 3-4 months before considering another grading to get all the techniques under your belt. Some new things to learn in ...
