Re: Query

HI Sonal There really are many options of lenses - even in the hard ones you describe. I would strongly suggest speaking to your optometrist and she will be able to evaluate the shape of your cornea and give you some options. I wear scleral lenses which cover the whole eye and I find them very comfo...

Re: Query

Hi Sonal. There are many so many options available to you before you should even think about a graft. Speak to you optometrist and see if they can provide you with an alternative lens or if you keep getting told to persevere then see if you GP can refer you to a specialist clinic at a hospital? As L...

Re: KC Genetics

What worries me immensely is that I seem to read a lot about new lenses being developed for KC and hear very little about how KC can be prevented in the first place. Without repeating myself, I go back to my oringial point - money. For me it would be interesting and essential to find out why, as Lyn...

Re: KC Genetics

I am now more confused than confused. I wish these qualified folk would talk in proper English, innit. ;) The rest of us with KC may be able to understand then! One interesting point. My late Grandmother who died in the early 1980s when I was 3 was told some time before ( Dad believes in the mid 60s...

Re: KC Genetics

Interesting. Before I proceed with anything it would be interesting to hear what they have to say.

Thanks

Re: Solutions and Prescriptions

I thought the same Gareth when I got told the prescription was ready! Anyway, I used the saline for the first time today and the applicator it comes in makes it very easy to clean and fill the lens so this style is recommened. Perhaps we can get on to the GMC and recommended that all GP's follow sui...

Re: Hello

HI Chris You tend to read a lot on this forum about grafts simply because in most cases that is the last resort for such patients and poses the most questions. As a positive spin, I was diagnosed with KC in my left eye 15 years ago - it got worse very quickly but is now managed by a scleral contact ...

Re: KC Genetics

I am glad this topic was brought up. I have been thinking about compiling an online questionairre/database asking as many random and not-so-random question I can think of to see the links people have, differences, comparison etc. What do people think of the idea? I have some web skills myself, altho...

Re: Solutions and Prescriptions

Result. I went to the GP and told them that 4 x 10ml bottles would last me about 2 minutes. GP then invited me in. I informed him of the error and I said I needed a months supply, ideally 40 x 30ml bottles - I may have pushed the boundaries, but I went with it. Anyway, without answer he proceeded to...

Re: Protein removing tablets

Personally, I have found using a good cleaner is more affective than protein tablets which I used for years. I have recently moved to using Miraflow and have seen a big difference. The lens actually seems to shine more! It is hard to get though in the shops, but try online at Post Optics. Moorfields...
