KC is definately hereditary in my case. My natural mother had it, (I'm adopted but her records state that she had very poor vision and wore strong glasses). I have it. My son, now 26 has it. My grandson is 6 months old tomorrow and I'm praying that he doesn't get it.

I had no problems with kerasoft lenses, wore them for 3 years or so until my sight deteriorated to the extent where I needed grafts. I used to put Opti tears eye re wetting drops in when I remembered to (very rarely)! Wore the lenses from 9 am til 11 pm most days. They are worth a try. Good luck :D

On my last visit there was talk of trying to improve my grafted eye's vision with laser, but after incisions have been tried. I prefer the idea of laser to incisions - surely I'm going to end up with more scarring that way!

Unfortunately when they tried to correct the right eye it distorted everything too much. Incisions were mentioned and even laser surgery!! There is a possiblility that the KC has come back in the left eye, grafted in 2002, which would explain why it is continuing to deteriorate. I know that +7 on in...

Stitches out, vision worse

Had stitches out 3 months ago, didn't faint this time!! Saved that until we were on the plane to go home and about to take off, but only my husband noticed! Unfortunately the vision has gone from +4 to +7. Anyone else experienced this? The glasses prescription made everything "tilt" so kee...

I wore Kerasofts for about 4 yrs before I got my eyes grafted. I used to fill them with Opti Tears before I put them into the eye which pretty much eliminated air bubbles and they felt nice going in! The vision compared to RPG - which I found excrutiatingly painful - was not as good but kept me lega...

Another frantic eye rubber here. I just can't help it. I rub my left eye more, grafted 4 yrs ago, but have started rubbing my right eye which still has the stitches in. They really do drive you mad!
