Sorry to hear you aren't doing so well Chris. Hang in there! Its good to hear the eye itself is doing well.
Steroids can suppress the immune system, but it really depends on the dose. Generally, low doses wont result in significant long term suppression.

Re: Sunglasses
I've never really spent a huge amount on sunglasses. My most expensive pair were £30 and cheapest were about a fiver. All I'm going to say is normally, you get what you pay for! But in my personal experience, I wouldnt spend much more than what I already have on sunglasses, because the pairs that I ...

Re: JACK ALLEN CONTACT LENSES
Hi. I used Flex-edge lenses for about 3/4 year - before I was wearing RGPs. I loved the flex-edge lenses, they were more comfortable, stable and best of all they never fell out. I had to stop using them just before Christmas because they are quite new lenses, and it was getting difficult to adjust t...

Hello everyone, hope all is well. Firstly, I apologise for not posting as frequently as I used to here. I will try to post more often. I have had a few changes recently. You may remember I was using 'flex-edge' lenses (soft edges, hard centre) for a while. They were great in my opinion for 2 reasons...

Re: Help! Off Work and Desperately Need to Get Back!
As I mentioned in another thread, I will be getting read aloud software (Kurzweil). Its on the sightandsound.co.uk website too. I have had a shot to play around with it and I think ti will make a big difference. Basically, you can open any document, or scan in any piece of text, and it will read it ...

Re: A visit to the University's disability service
Sorry for the late reply, but I have decided to go ahead with the software, which really is excellent. It will allow me to study even without any lenses in (yipee!!). The university will also be providing me with a 22" monitor to allow me to increase the size of everything, which should help. A...

Re: using tap water
The risk of infection is probably relatively low, but never risk it. As always, its better to be safe than sorry. I understand why you do it though! Nowadays, I carry around a small bottle of solution just in case. When I know I might be out for long and there is nowhere to wash my hands beforehand,...

Re: Storage containers
Sounds fine to me! I have always been washing them out with hot water, then giving it a quick rinse with a little saline just before I fill them with solution.
