Re: Had my second CT, time to consider CXL...

CXL has ben around for at least ten years now and from the studies that I have seen following up these early trials is that where it has been done with the epithelium off (the way NICE has accepted the treatment) that there has been no further KC progression. If it's going to be more than a week or ...

Re: Vision when taking contacts out

This could be due to several things; 1) The brain has got used to seeing pretty well throughout the day so being slow to adjust 2) The effect of two lenses on the eye is causing additional corenal moulding 3) The cornea is starting to suffer mild oxygen deprevation becuase of the additional thicknes...

Re: new KC

Sit back, carry on as normal before you found you had KC and see what the consultant says in 12 months. I've not seen mine in over 10 years now, just go to the contact lens clinic and they say if anything has changed, it does sometimes but the in my prescription now is age related and the fact the l...

Re: new KC

The other thing is that as we get older, the cornea starts to stiffen which is why for many of us the otherside of 40 often finds the condition is much more stable than it once was. Can't remember the last time my unadied vision was as good as yours. I think once you have seen a consultant and a dia...

Re: Please help me.

First thing you need to do is print of the leaflets as previosly mentioned and make sure your employer and HR department are aware of their legal obligations under the Equalities Act. Basically they have a legal duty of care to make reasonable adjustments to your work environment and equally you hav...

Re: kerasoft lens

That's the key, push to try something different. Their reluctance is more likely to be down to cost as the RGP's are so cheap comapred to any other type of lens for KC.

Re: Piggybacking - more advice

The basic rule of thumb is thata if soemthing doen't look right you should get it checked out. It is always best to play it safe and find you were worrying about nothing rather than push on and find there is something wrong which then takes much longer to fix. I don't think what you are experiencing...

Re: Piggybacking - more advice

Some eye units only prvide a limited uantity of soft lenses so exceeding this may result in additional expense so worth being aware of. One sign before blood vessels start growing is that your eyes will probably go very pink. If this keeps happening then blood vessels can start to grow. Although the...

Re: EYEBRID CONTANT LENSES [HYBRIDS]

Both of my full grafts were done over 25 years ago. Probably a couple of years ago now I moved from wearing spectacles to hybrid contact lenses although not from the same manufacturer you mention. Some months later my left graft started to reject having been fine previously for over 20 years. Cnslt...

Re: How Do You Manage Halo / Ghosting?

Put this in your original thread, but no harm in repeating myself :) This was being discussed on another thread and over the weekend I really pushed friends and relatives to describe in detail their visin and to my surprise a number of them who wear glasses, contacts instead of glasses and those wit...
