Re: Ok,So I've Just Been....
If the outcome of the assessment is to want to cut your enefit - APPEAL! You must always appeal, There are very many cases where the first assessment wants to cut and this is overturned on appeal - probably because the people doig the appeals are more expert in what they are up to. Hope it won;t com...

I gope that "x-ray" is wrong too! Overall - I;d fear that sort of situation is all too common - A&E depts have their set of standard procedures - the "common" problems with which people come to them. If you have one of those, you-re fine - they know what to do and do it, Anyt...

Re: Piggy Backing
Hi. I'm 24-yet-again.... errm, 49. Been wearing sclerals since I was in the fourth form of grammar school, 14 I think. Whent straight into sclerals from nothing. Never knew why, but at the time had the idea that for KC it would be sclerals or nothing. Which trust? - the infamous M**rf**lds. No doubt...

Re: Finally heard those words
I was fitted for a new scleral lens in my grafted eye 3 months to the day after the graft. I gather there are people who've had them even sooner. The main problem with fitting lenses soon after a graft is not that it is not possile or practical to do so - it's that the eye is still changing shape fo...

Re: Removing Piggyback lenses
I hope that PB can be a long-term option - I'm not oging to be able to have another graft cos I don't tolerate the drugs. Two things I've tried are 1. if the soft lens is stuck because it has been in too long and got dry, drip some saline into the eye to get it wetter and softer, then try again; and...

Re: Piggy Backing
I've been piggybacking for a few years now - under scleral (23mm diameter) lenses rather than corneal (8mm diameter) ones, but the principle is the same. To answer your questions: THey are the same sclerals as I was wearing before I started piggybacking. Well, in the case of the first one, the idea ...

As regards the chocolate nd whisky therapy: I'm sure they will do far more good than many other medically-approved treatments! In fact, in some of the long hours I've spent sitting around in hospital waiting rooms, I've come to the conclusion that a good cup of tea from the Friedns' of... cafe bar i...

Re: Scleral Lenses and Flying
Hi dolphin, I wear scleral lenses and have done for, oops! over 30 years no. I've done a fair bit of flying, and not (generally) had problems with the lenses, taken them out or nything. the exceptions to taking them out have been when I've been on long-haul flights (to SOuth Africa, and to New Zeala...
