Re: Can I wear contact lenses?
Hi Sutts, According to Google, both King's Lynn and Norwich eye clinics have optometrists though that doesn't tell me whether they actually provide lenses with their own contact lens department. East Anglia doesn't have a lot of eye clinics, but the nearest alternative would be Addenbrookes in Cambr...

Re: Can I wear contact lenses?
Welcome back, Sutts. I've looked back on this forum and you were asking a similar question back in 2012! So it's great that you've had good vision with spectacles all this time. Re: DVLA and keratoconus
Many thanks for spotting this, Lia. It seems the change of heart has followed from an intervention by the Association of Optometrists https://www.aop.org.uk/our-voice/media-centre/press-releases/2023/06/16/dvla-publishes-revised-list-of-notifiable-conditions-list-for-drivers-following-aop-advice and...

Re: For veteran corneal transplants
For contact lens checks, once a year is normal. For grafts, if all has gone well, there may not be any need for even annual checks. At Moorfields, the contact lens dept would refer back to the medics if they wanted a 'veteran' graft looked at.

Contact lens tolerance
At our Zoom 'coffee morning' last Saturday, we were joined by one of the principal optometrists at Moorfields. He told us about a new coating for some contact lenses which could help people having tolerance issues, particularly with scleral lenses. You can read more on our home page https://www.kera...

Re: The lives people lead..
Welcome to the forum, Cameron. We've e-mailed when you were having difficulty registering, so I've already told you my story. But I hope other forum users will reassure you that, now most people diagnosed with KC have the option of CXL, the prospects really are very much brighter for this condition ...
