A huge thank you to everyone who's replied. You've really helped me get things in perspective. Choccie, wine or a pint of your favourite all round. :D Carol - I hadn't noticed your location under your name - a real duh moment.  I don't know the south of the county that well. If we're eve...

Glad to hear you disagree Gareth. :D The logical part of me disagrees with myself as well, but the mum in me has been in panic mode.  I know I'm being silly and over-reacting but there's a part of me that that I can't quite get to truly believe it. I am in dire need of a swift boot up th...

That sums up why I am so concerned for my daughters, particularly my eldest. She's at sixth form college and has definite plans for uni and beyond....

Count me as one of the people who was shocked to find out that people still wore contacts post graft. I'm 99.9% sure I was never told of the possibility. I just assumed that I'd have glasses and that would be that, and luckily that's how it turned out. Rosemary you would despair with me as I ...

Thanks Lynn :D Yes it does help me with getting things in perspective. What you say makes a lot of sense. :D My Mum never needed lenses and was only diagnosed because we saw the same optician who after first spotting something not quite right with me paid close attention to her and my brother (who d...

My keyboard is overheating. Andrew, I quite literally was in the wrong waiting room once. After my first graft they booked me in to see the wrong consultant in out patients which caused lots of confusion and why are you here questions. I didn't know, I just turned up when and where they told m...

Hey Andrew - do you 'rent yourself out' to people to attend their appointments with them? :D I'm sat here grinning at the thought of the sight of you walking through their doors making consultant's knees knock. Jay - I'm thinking very hard now and I can't hand on heart remember those exact wor...

Sweet - I've never managed to meet anyone nice in waiting rooms. :( After the umpteenth time of listening to someone moan like crazy because they've been attending the eye clinic for a whole six months now and complaining that their appointment time was twenty minutes ago and they hadn't been seen y...
