Re: Kertatoconous, C3R and Intacs
I had Intacs in my right eye in January this year. I can say that it did not really hurt immediately post op. It has not come out. I'm not aware of it being there, although I don't know if the cornea is more sensitive with regard to contact lens wear due to the additional tension on it. I have a fol...

Re: Hybrid contact lenses
Thanks Andrew for your reply. My question concerning the exact science bit really related to the degree of astigmatism/steepness of cornea. What I really wanted to know is are there upper limits for each of these above which something like a kerasoft lens would be unsuitable which would then require...

Re: Hybrid contact lenses
Thanks Lynn for your advice. I will try and persevere with the soft lens solution. A hydrogen peroxide solution sounds more like a sterilising agent-is that the case? I do have a high level of astigmatism in my right eye. Is there a limit for this and also for steepness of the cornea when a kerasoft...

Hybrid contact lenses
Hi I have been fitted with a hybrid contact lens (hard centre surrounded by soft outer skirt) following an INTAC op as a result of KC.Although it is quite comfortable to wear when I take it out at night I experience a burning sensation in that eye. There is also some inflammation on the border of th...

Re: Some INTACS questions from a newbie.
Hi all. I had the iNTACS fitted two weeks ago and recovery is going ok. I cannot say at this stage there has been a great improvement (although the NICE report does say that outcomes and benefit times are variable. What are other peoples experiences? Because the cornea is going to be changing I can...

Re: Some INTACS questions from a newbie.
Dek Welcome to the forum. Cataracts can develop very quickly. I went from having no cataract to having a very well developed one in a matter of weeks. My cataract surgery came after I'd had a graft in that eye. I am afraid I do not have Intacs. I hope that your eyes settle down quickly. As for cata...

Some INTACS questions from a newbie.
Hi all. My history is I am a long term wearer of RGP's for about 35 years initially for myopia and about 15 years ago was diagnosed with the start of KC in my right eye. RGP's corrected the condition largely and with my unaffected left eye my overall vision was quite good. About 3 years ago my Consu...

Re: Did I cause KC by rubbing my eyes as a child?
Hi I'm new to the forum and would like to share some of my experiences. I have been wearing hard contact lenses for about 35 years now and was diagnosed with KC (or KC variant) about 15 years ago initially in my right eye only. I asked my Consultant at that time if there was any evidence that prolon...
