Re: Good outcome from graft?

Hi Robcm, I am 9 weeks post PK and am so glad I did it after years of suffering with lenses and ulcers and scars. My vision was no better for about 2 weeks, and then improved rapidly to 6/12 now (uncorrected) which is unusually good. I have been warned not to expect that to stay the same, but am rea...

Re: Question for graftees - our old eyes

And in the same breath. i think the new one is a miracle.

Re: Eye Test program

i have also had some discomfort recently. especially towards the end of the day. my doctor says it is irritation from the stitches, but is not serious enough to remove any of them yet.

Re: A solution for KC contact lens wearers with dry eyes?

i had these plugs put in a few years back. it was done in the opthalmologists chair and was totally painfree and not very stressful even- just a little ticklish. he first put temporary ones in to see if there was a reaction. then followed up a week or 2 later with 'permanant' ones.i am not sure how ...

Re: Stopped in to whine about the pain...

Sorry about that Piper. I used to get that quite a bit on my right eye (which has now been grafted). however i don't think it is acceptable and you should have it looked at again. Piggybacks helped me a lot.

Re: Eye Test program

I managed to get this downloaded. at 60cm from 12inch LCD screen I can see 11 with my right grafted eye (7weeks) and 11 with my left eye (corrected with RGP piggybacks). is the program made so that it always appears the same size no matter what size screen you have? my results seem really good, but ...

Re: feeling run down

Shame Sorry Chris, perhap the anaesthetic wore your system down? I also had my graft 7 weeks ago, and I have been generally fine. It took me at least 3 weeks to feel 100% after the 2.5hours of general aneathetic, but other than that I am okay. Eye is doing wonderfully- I am ecstatic actually. my vis...

Re: KC and Lens help

Hi Rich, I agree with Jackie- it is very hard getting used to the lenses, and i resisted- after trying for a few weeks i gave up- but eventually my vision deteriorated and i started seeing the RGPs as the 'miracle' that they are. I would be blind without them. Tricks you could try: - when inserting....

Re: 7 questions about Keratoconus

Hi TF5, Welcome. Asking questions is the best way to deal with the complex issues related to KC. Without this website i would have been a wreck- because I only know 2 other person who has KC. Unfortuantely you may get some differing answers here too, but in the end you will just need to make you own...
