Survived the squint op...
In the ongoing battle to get working vision, yesterday was squint op day. My left eye instead of diverging significantly now points slightly inwards (to allow muscle relaxing over time according to the surgeon) and consquently my vision is no longer panorama vision but instead has the normal range. ...

Update on rejection attempt and other complications
Well since the last update in March (I think), the graft appears to have settled down and is looking good once again after attempting to reject. No more pain down to pred forte once a day until the end of this week. Interestingly the vision has deteriorated from really pretty good to next to useless...

Re: Update: Nearly made it to 2 years without rejection
Chris, sounds like things are going well for you. As for Ashford when I used A&E a while back they sent me straight up to the Rotary Suite after taking several hours to decide to do so. So now when there are issues I just phone the Rotary Suite directly from wherever I am and they make an appoin...

Re: Update: Nearly made it to 2 years without rejection
Rejection and rejection attempts are two different things. I have the symptoms of the early stages of an attempt to reject, the consultant seems happy that we can sort this out via a course of eye drops. I am suprised that I have gone two years without any major issues to be honest and I am do not t...

Update: Nearly made it to 2 years without rejection
Twenty one more days and I would have hit two years with minimal issues. Sadly the eye went rather red 14 days ago, stings like mad and once again I live under the cover of darkness. Managed to get in to the eye casualty unit the same day and then on to the consultant three days later. It turns out ...

Well my right eye is still usable so I haven't worried about the left. Though I have been told to get a prescription but no lenses sorted out before my next appt in 2 months time. Once I have a lens in my glasses for my left eye things become interesting as I have to learn to use it - due to keratoc...

The wife called it George and reckons that my left eye has its own personality. She has decided that it loves chocolate, beer and lingerie consequently is a bloke cornea! Still I am not complaining. If/when I have the other one done it is going to be called Fred, unless the wife decides that it is a...
