Re: Guide to Submitting a Claim for PIP
I have always maintained that KC is a disability. Yes, we can see when we have contacts that work. The problem is that the contacts are only a temporary aid. Without them, many of us would be on the partially sighted register. We have to contend with random progression, making our current prescripti...

OP just means "original post", or "original poster". Its forum shorthand to mean that your referring to the first post or the thread starter

Re: KC – ia debilitating illness and a progressive disease?
I totally agree with everything the OP has said, and all apply to me. I often bore my family with my frequent rumblings of visual acuity :( Last nite whilst driving home after my 11hr shift of driving an armoured security van. I seen about 20+ images of the moon, in my usual circle formation. First ...

Re: newbie!
I didn't get diagnosed with KC until my early 30s. I was seeing unaided ok till around 2005, when I was diagnosed. I wore glasses for about a year or two. I could see my vision start to deteriorate, and had many prescription changes for glasses. Started with contact lenses around 2007 when glasses c...

Re: Time off work
I have been pondering the time off work issue post graft. My consultant is pushing me towards a double graft. My problem is that im left eye dominate. My right eye is below driving standard, and has been a lazy eye for 30 years. My job revolves around professional driving and heavy lifting. I was su...

Re: K C and a lazy eye
Hi, I have a very similar experience to you. I'm left eye dominate, and have a lazy right eye from a childhood squint correction. I can't really tolerate RGPs. I have been using Kerasoft 2's for around 6 years now. I'm going to collect a pair of Kerasoft ICs on Friday 8th. I also have a 15mm dia. Ke...

Re: Kerasoft lenses and haloing/glare
munster - I think your drawing is a very good impression of night vision and the problem of haloing... I hope you don't mind if I take a copy of it to my next eye appointment to try to help explain the issue I am having!?!! Sure you can take a copy, if it helps to explain your vision. Thats why I d...

Re: Kerasoft lenses and haloing/glare
TBH, it is only a crude drawing to show people what my vision at night looks like thru my eyes. My light streak circles are bigger than I have drew. If only I was a good artist, then I'd be better at it :( My consultant has said that, only a corneal graft will eliminate the visual errors caused by t...

Re: Kerasoft lenses and haloing/glare
I don't think any soft lens can fix that problem. I think its inherit of the soft lens. A soft lens tends to mold itself to the shape of the cornea, due to its flexible structure. An RGP on the other hand vaults over the cornea to recreate a regular surface. I use Kerasoft 2 lenses and dark/night vi...
