A visit to the University's disability service
Last week, I went to the student disablility service to get some help for my KC. They were very helpful. They have arranged to have the usual enlarged papers and extra time if I require it. Furthermore, they have helped me with the costs of having to print off a hard copy of powerpoint presentations...

Re: Confused and worried!
I know it is easier to say than to be done, but don't get so worked up and worried about your KC. As it progresses, there will be new options available to you. Many of us are living with KC with minimal impact on our lives. As Andrew said, have you been to the university for help with your condition...

Re: do you use your other senses more?
This is an interesting discussion. When in my house without lenses, I suppose I remeber things down to memory too, but yes, I rely on touch alot to be able to do things. I don't bother switching lights on in the room if I'm only there to get something, because I use my sens of touch to find, say a s...

Re: new RGP's-lights at night
It could start to get better, maybe not. In my own experience, it didnt really get better, I just got used to it. I only drive at night when I feel that I am not taking a risk with my eyes. It's worth mentioning to remember that the flaring etc isn't only down to the contact lenses but also the corn...

Re: newbie with some Q's
Welcome to the forums. Intacs may well be an option for you in the future, but your practitioner will advise you if they would be suitable for you. I wore RGPs for three years, and yes, I understand what you mean when you sneeze! Its really annoying, but I found it quite funny when I was with my fri...

Re: light sensitivity.
I wear sunglasses almost always when I'm outdoors. The best pair I got was in winter last year. The glare from the sun was really starting to get to me, so I went round everywhere to find something suitable and at a reasonable price. I bought a pair of Bloc sportswear sunglasses. For me, they are br...

I have experienced everything you have described. I would advise you to go and see your opthalmologist just in case. However, I have started giving my eyes a much longer rest than usual. I try to leave my lenses out for at least 1 and a half hours a day now. Ever since I have started doing this (abo...
