Re: Astigmatism after graft

craig because your graft split as the lens fell out i'm thinking it may have been restitched? If it did or didnt the surface/shape of the cornea will have changed therefore astigmatism may also get worse. It should settle down after a while, if not your ophthalmologist will start to remove stitches ...

Re: Drops that dilate pupil

cyclopentolate dilates the pupil. It more so acts as a cyclopegic, which prevents the eye from accomodating. It helps with uveitis and also corneal ulcerations.

chloramphenicol and ciprofloxacin are antibiotics. Prednisolone is a steroid eye drop to help elleviate inflammation.

Re: just had my op

As Gareth stated you will only be prescribed glasses or contact lenses once the graft settles, which would be about 6-12 months. Stitches would be taken out around the 12 month mark if neccassary depending on your astigmatism, If its quite high some will be removed to try and reduce. If not then the...

Re: Post graft 7 months and just set myself back to the beginnin

You must have hit yourself very hard to detach your lens and split your graft. What did the ophthalmologist do when you saw them? So you're saying the wont operate on your lens if you dont get suitable vision through a contact lens after your graft heals? I'd have thought they would restitch the gra...

Re: Unsuccessful Piggyback

I dont know what you exactly mean when you say 'sleep' but I had the exact sa,e problem. Your vision becomes hazy because the contact lens could be drying out and plus because there is an extra lens there is a lack of oxygen gettin to the cornea. To be honest for me it didnt make much of a differenc...

Re: Advice Please

With your prescription stated in your first post, to me it seems your KC is not severe. RGPs do help most people and they should have helped you see more than one line better on the snellen chart. I dont think whoever fitted you with the rgps did not have a great deal of experience with keratoconics...

Re: A strange new twist / graft

Before one is removed, unless it has broken, a topography of the eye is done and stitches are removied in the area where the cornea is steepest, to help flatten it. When this is done there is a possiblilty it can affect your vision either by improving it or making it worse. If a tisch is taken out i...

I would say 4-6 months depending on how your graft heals to be on the safe side. An increase in iop can disturb the sutures and possibly break them. try to avoid lifting heavy weights
