Re: PLACED ON WAITING LIST FOR A GRAPH
Hopefully you will both soon get your head round it. By the time I was told 2 1/2 years ago I already knew in my own mind the time was right. They operation it's self is straightforward enough with little pain afterwards more of a discomfort. Be prepared for lots of check ups for a couple of years. ...

Re: Just recently had a corneal transplant.
Umm I would certainly be pushing for an explanation on that one. I had to have some cuts In the cornea after the graft to ease the astigmatism. It was way more painful than the graft but was a lot better after 24 hours to the point I was coming off the pain killers. Upto you with your appointment on...

Re: Just recently had a corneal transplant.
Hi Daniel
Welcome to the forum How recent is recent ? When I had my graft it was uncomfortable for 24 hours or so rather than painful. Your eye has had major trauma so it will take time. When are you due to go back to the hospital ?

Re: Piggybacking
Make sure you do keep the eye well lubricated. Even if you feel fine as the soft lens can dry out. This is especially important before you remove the soft lens ( put some drops in first). If not it can be more stuck than you are bargaining for. I did it once and ended up in casualty, most painful th...

Re: Intra Ocular lens
My consultant was looking to do this after I developed a cataract as a result of the steroids post graft. The idea being to take the lens out and fit a IOL to dial out the astigmatism on the graft. In the end he felt he could get could get good correction with a standard cataract lens replacement an...

Re: KC and glasses
Hi Adrian Hopefully after the grafts your prescription should be more straightforward. After my graft the consultant got the optom to write out the prescription and told me to buy them on line. I paid £18 for a pair. That way I wasn't upset if the prescription changed as the sutures came out. The on...

Re: Cataract and lens implant
Well it's three months post cataract and AK. Vision is a lot better I can wake up read an alarm clock and make drinks which is a god send. Had a check up couple of weeks back and given a prescription for some glasses. They give me just short of driving standard vision on the graft but it does seem a...

Re: corneal graft
Hi I had a full thickness graft in May 2011 like you I could not tolerate a lens. The op it's self is straight forward enough. No pain after more of a gritty feeling. I work in IT so took a couple of weeks off work ( but in reality I was responding to emails within a couple of days). There are regul...
