Re: Sore Eyelid

If it is definitely a hayfever type reaction sodium cromocglycate can be used prior to after contact lens use. Also very useful to keep the drops in the fridge or to use a cold compress to help soothe the eyelid and also to reduce any inflammation. Yes you should be wary of anything you put into you...

Re: why wait till 011

Remember that the PM himself has big problems with his vision. I am not sure exactly but I understand he only has one functioning eye and even that does not have great vision. I do know that his poor eye was injured in a rugby accident and is either not used or may even be a prosthetic one. He does ...

Re: Sore Eyelid

Spot on Rosemary! The polish used to polish lenses must be removed prior to wear otherwise it will irritate like crazy and attract many deposits from your tears. This can spiral and induce an allergic type response made worse by hayfever. Are the lenses PMMA or Gas Permeable? PMMA or traditional har...

Re: ciclosporin a

Rosemary Remember that alison is using Cyclosporin as a dry eye drop and NOT as an Immunosuppressant for graft rejection. Concentrations are very different for the eye drop version to that of the systemic drug and to the best of my knowledge the Ophthalmic version has not been used to help prevent g...

Re: why wait till 011

If someone could organise a letter template we could all just download it and fill in the blanks for our particular area and post to the relevant persons? It may also be worthwhile to include MP's in the list of people we intend to lobby. i have some experience of lobbying and will find out more and...

Re: ciclosporin a

Please go to http://www.restasis.com where you will find all the product information you require. You will indeed see that the Ophthalmic version is solely intended for human use and is NOT the same drug as is used on animals as an Immunosuppressant .I do have an Optometrist friend who ordered some ...

Re: Thank you

I would like to echo the sentiments expressed above. I do believe if all groups had the knowledge and support mechanisms of the KC group then the world would be a much better place. Of particular interest were the stories told both privately and to the conference of how KC can affect the lives of su...

Re: ciclosporin a

Are you reffering to Cyclosporin Ophthalmic Emulsion? it is branded under the name RESTASIS and to the best of my knowledge is not widely available(if at all) on the NHS in the UK. There are certainly many research reports from the USA claiming fantastic results with the treatment.
