Re: Thoughts on Intacs?

Thanks Adam, very interesting comments and sorry to hear about the torn cornea which must have been an horrific experience. Can you clarify if you are using sclerals on both eyes or just on the one without intacs and is your right eye vision needing any correction at all? Good luck, John

Thoughts on Intacs?

This is a request for anyone with recent experience of intacs to comment on a question I have been asked about their use. Most of the FAQ section is fairly old on this topic so any recent input will be appreciated. Someone who is struggling with wearing time of RGPs is desperate to find a way forwar...

Congratulations to all celebrating anniversaries! Here's to many more and if you need a bit of optimism, my graft is now in its 36th year.

Do hope you are now out of pain Sheila and that the inflammation hasn't returned, wishing you all the best and every encouragement in getting through this and hope you feel able to post an update sometime, good luck! John

Re: Methods to help with the dry eyes (blepharitis) and pain from KC.

venting helps though, so don't worry about it! KC itself is not painful, as Anne said, (though the impacts on life are at least a pain in the backside) but I guess a lot of us have had eyelid issues at some time. I still bathe my eyelids most mornings just with a flannel and hot water as it seems to...

Re: Scleral lenses or hybrids?

hi jonny, I've been wearing lenses over 45 years but never worn full sclerals though I know those who do seem very happy with them. I have a 'mini-scleral' RGP lens on one eye which is about 18mm in diameter and vaults the cornea; it rests on the white of the eye just outside the main bulge of the c...

Re: Lifestyle after corneal graft

To follow up Clarissa, I've got a 35 year old graft that's survived a great deal of travelling, jiving, jogging, places with temperatures from -40C to +55C and also a one minute free-fall parachute drop from 15,000 feet, so you do not need to feel that you will be inhibited - you will need to wait t...
