Re: Intacs update/Big pupils/CR3
Alice Seems like the reduction in pupil size is helping your vision after Intacs, even if it is not to the extent you had hoped for which is a shame. KC progression is exponential, usually developing rapidly through the teen years before slowing down and almost stopping in the thirties. If your corn...

Re: graft & alcohol
Aside from the dehydration that alcohol causes, there is also the possibility of having an accident whilst under the influence and te risk of injury to the grafted eye. That said, I'm not advocating giving up drinking, just do it reasonably and have a few pints of water as you go along (also helps a...

Re: New bod introduction
I think till now I had my head buried firmly buried in the sand about KC. As far a I was concerned I was blind in one eye with perfect KC free vision in my right eye. Apart from a few inconveniences caused by the blindness life carried on almost as normal (apart from being rubbish at driving and go...

Re: Any experiences on Ferrara rings or Intacts?
Hi Ronald I have intacs, and have had them for almost a year now (doesn't time fly????). For me they are comfortable and generally I forget that they are in my right eye. For me, they have made a vast improvement to my vision. You may want to read about members experiences here , this also shows the...

Re: Intacs reduce ghosting?
Can't say about the ghosting being reduced as I never had that. However the starburst ad halo significantly dropped in intensity afterwards.

Re: advice on Intacs
I'll second what Andrew has said. Intacs is not a miracle cure, just merely a very good symptomatic treatment for a lot of KC patients. At the end of the day I know that Intacs can only delay the inevitable, also results can be very varied. Tim only you can decide if the benefits of the procedure ou...

Re: Ideas
Mmm...seems to me that your registrar does not keep up-to-date with the NICE guidance. Intacs has now been approved for general NHS use.
St Paul's in Liverpool have also done the Intacs procedure and they have 2 consultants that I know of who are licensed to do the procedure.

Re: A newbie with Intac questions
Hello to you all, I am a newbie, signed on yesterday for the first time- thanks for replying with your thoughts. comments and support. As I said yesterday Intacs and Cross Linking seem to be the next option for me to consider. However I have a few questions rattling around my head...and I'm sure th...
