Re: Part of my iris has turned black

Yes it is like that, similar size, though mine is more of a strip than a Vshape.

Re: Part of my iris has turned black

I have only noticed it BUT until Tuesday was using drops that made my pupil big so the pupil has only come back to its normal size in the last few days.

I will monitor its size and see if it increases, but it is only a small area and would tie in with an incision being made.

I am in no pain, my eye has not redenned, nor has vision worsened. When the surgeon and the team were talk...

Re: Floaters and blue lights

I wondered about detachment too, but it is now over two weeks since my incident and I have had two very thorough checkups on my retina. Also I've had no other symptoms.

It's where I go, just wondered who you see?!

When I was a "normal" KC patient I saw Dr Rubenstein, since the hyrdops and graft I always see one of Professor Dua's team (saw the man himself one week after my original graft when it was the xmas hols!)

Floaters and blue lights

Since I detached my lens the other week and had emergency surgery to save my graft, I have loads of tiny floaters out of the bad eye and blue dots in the central vision. Luckily this is only noticable in certain light conditions. Looking on the web this can be a sign of retinal detachment but as I h...

Re: Post graft 7 months and just set myself back to the beginnin

Ouch, ouch, ouch! :( I really feel for you, Craig. I suppose they'll insert an artificial lens, as they would do if you were having a cataract op. Do let us know how you get on. In terms of ops, I guess a lens implant is not THAT major after having two (or is it 1.5?!) grafts. Hope they strap your ...

Re: Are we entitled to benefits

I have taken some steps to help myself. As an accountant I have enough knowledge to deal with small business. I have set up my own business, on the quiet, and slowly building up clients. This means I can charge double what I get paid per hour at work and so effectively work half the hours for the sa...
