Re: Cross-linking clinical trial
1. If you were eligible for this trial, would you be keen to participate? Yes I would - especially what I know now, but then I guess that's hindsight for you. 2. If you weren’t eligible (e.g. KC too advanced, rigid contact lens wearer or you’ve had a corneal graft), would you have been likely to par...

Hi All, After lots of reading on this site I've decided to bite the bullet and see if I can have cross linking done. I've spoken with my hospital and they think it's unlikely that my left eye (which is the one I want done) can be done but it's worth a punt I think especially if it stops it getting a...

Re: Hello
Hi All, Well I have my new lens (and in quick time so that's good!) and I seem to have a bit of a weird problem and wondered if anyone had any comments on it. Firstly when reading down the chart I can do all but the bottom line (And can see the bottom line but it's hard work) so everything seemed ok...

Re: How normal ior abnormal is this please?
Hi Henrys Mum, I can't make any comment on the lens prescription (As I wouldn't have a clue and could only compare to my lenses which wouldn't help!) but I can say that Birmingham Midland Eye Hospital is really good; I've been going there for years and they have always been fantastic. That's not to ...

Re: Hello
Hi All, Just thought I'd post an update! I was at the hospital yesterday to get my lens....which fitted perfectly. The only minor issue was that when someone typed in the details for the lens they put in -22.25D rather than -25.25D so as a result the lens wasn't actually much use so they need to get...

Re: My Blog of my experiences
Hi Alex, I've just read through your blog and it was very interesting. Especially the bit about hit and miss consultations. I've had some experience of that. 90% of the time you get a great person (Big thumbs up here to Birmingham Midland Eye hosp here!) but there are occasions where you great reall...

Re: RGP fitment
Hi Al, Longhoc and Andrew are totally right - it can take ages to get the lens right. I had a bad spell about 10 years ago now and went through a load of lenses before getting the right one which didn't pop out or slip off - which ironically turned out to be the inital one I'd had problems with when...

Hi Jez, I think that song is somewhat apt! It is funny how you go through times where everything is fine and you don't think of it much, but as you say you then go through those periods where it's just problem after problem. At least research is on going - I certainly had no idea they had a new mate...

Re: Hello
Hi, Well after going to the eye hospital today I thought I'd post a little update. It went really really well! They tried the steepest lens first and it turned out that it didn't quite fit - it was too steep which surprised the hospital somewhat so they were able to going two less steeper which only...
