Rosemary (a regular poster here in the past) has asked me to let all her friends know that she's gone in for a graft today. So good luck, Rosemary, from all of us. We look forward to seeing you back on the forum soon!

Re: my right eye vision has been decreased
Hi Eman, Do go to your specialist. If you're rgp intolerant, there may be other lenses that you could tolerate. I don't know if Intacs are available in Egypt, but that might be another option - several people here have found lens wear much easier after that procedure. And if a graft is recommended f...

Re: LENS SOLUTION
Hi Callum, In England, the theory is that if you get your contact lenses from a hospital eye clinic, they should also give you solutions on prescription (so anyone who is eligible for free prescriptions would get their solutions free). Unfortunately, in practice, very few hospital eye clinics do giv...

Re: Help! Off Work and Desperately Need to Get Back!
Hi Em, Another possibility is that after 3 wks of no lenses, your corneas have changed shape a bit. Rgps tend to 'mould' the shape of the cornea a bit while they're in so leaving them out for a few weeks can affect the shape. You'd really need to go back to your optom to check whether that's happene...

Re: GRAFTS FROM THE 1960's
I don't know if we have anyone with grafts from the 60s, but there are some members with 70s grafts (though I don't know how many of them look at this forum or post here). And we do have some members who have had successful regrafts 25 or 30 years after their original graft, so I'm surprised by the ...

Re: All these questions....
Hello pa1 and welcome! What a dreadful way to be told you have KC! Especially as you may well not have a 'problem'. We get quite a few people coming here because, like you, they've been told they have KC when they go for laser surgery. The topography machines in laser clinics now detect very mild (s...

Re: Techniques for removing RGP lenses?
I use the same technique as Pete and Andrew. Sometimes the lens doesn't want to come out because the eye has dried out and the lens seems 'stuck' to the cornea. Using lubricating drops to moisten the eye can help to 'unstick' it and it'll then pop out more easily.

Re: High IOP
Hi Anne, I developed high IOP in one of my grafted eyes a couple of months after the graft. Like you, I was given drops to reduce the pressure and all went back to normal after a couple of weeks. (It's a long time ago, but I think they also changed the steroid drops I was on at the time for a differ...

Re: Newbie with a few probs!!!
Dan - if you look at the list of KC-friendly optoms on the home page of this site, you'll find one in Beaconsfield which isn't too far from Aylesbury.

Re: Advice please
Hi Linda, Most of us have spent happy hours on our hands and knees searching for lost lenses whatever age we are! I hope you won't need too many replacements. Whether your local opticians will be able to provide these from the prescription given by the hospital is hard to say. Many community optomet...
