And Cripps, yes, you should be able to get referred to Moorfields if you need CXL though I think your home area may have to agree to fund it.

Re: kerasoft lens

Why are they reluctant? When I first went to the hospital they tried RGP's... didn't quite work out for me so I changed to soft lenses, no problems whatsoever. They are there to serve you lol, tell them what you want! For your information, Kerasoft IC including fitting costs (privately) cost £465. I...

Re: Question

I probably already know the answer to this, but seeing as though I have my second CT scan this month, it's on my mind atm... if I am eligible for CXL, can I get referred to Moorfield's from my hospital in Essex to get it paid for on the NHS?

Re: How Do You Manage Halo / Ghosting?

Hi there. You sound quite like me tbh... currently wearing glasses although going through various contact lens fitments (since December!) Basically, I've found that glasses, soft lenses and hard lenses all give pretty much the same level of ghosting... very frustrating. With RGP's I only had them fo...

Re: Which lenses ?????

but if I drink red wine it improves! I think I'll take that away from everything you said  In all seriousness, thanks for the reply. I've found the optometrists to be very good at my hospital, I've been seeing them for a few months now and have tried a few different types of lenses. I still ge...

Re: Which lenses ?????

I'm confident they will still give me a huge amount of shadowing and glare... is this something most suffers just put up with in order to get the original image sharp? To a point Yes is the answer to your question, I've never found a lens that eliminates abortions completely, for me the Kerasoft ha...

Re: Anyone Not Able to Wear Contact Lenses?

I don't think you're ever going to get that unfortunately. I've gone from Kerasoft to RGP's and now a few different toric lenses. For me and my 'moderate' keratoconus vision is comparable between them all really, so I'm not continuing with RGP's because they're so uncomfortable. I have to admit I ha...

Re: New to RGP's... a few questions

Soft lenses I find are far superior than RGP's. My only experience is of the Kerasoft brand, the Kerasoft II was an excellent lens and then I moved to the newer Kerasoft IC when that became available. Both are specialist soft lenses for KC and irregular corneas, so you always have this option if th...

Re: New to RGP's... a few questions

Just thought I'd throw up a little update. Picked up my soft lenses yesterday... oh man the comfort! On another level to RGP's, and tbh the vision I'm getting atm is almost on par. I have: Biofinity Toric in my left eye Sauflon Clariti XR Toric in my right eye Anyone have any experience with either ...
