Re: links between keratoconous and other conditions?

Hi I was given a study paper from my optom & there are links to several genes & there is a link between allergies, exema, athsma, hay fever (I'm sure there are links to this paper on this site) I have all of the above & there is a history of heart conditions in my family, hence the reaso...

Re: Hello

Hi Anne I've been chatting to Lynn as Gartnavel have given up on fitting me with a hard lens following my INTACS, as I'm very allergic, but I feel I haven't explored all my options & Lynn agrees with this too. Thanks so much for the list of Optoms that are KC friendly - I've just booked to see a...

Re: Intacs followed by Cross Linking?

Hi Sharon I had the INTACS done exactly a year ago & it was very successful, but my eye is very sensitive, as I have many allergies, so I'm struggling to use a RPG lens, so I have been referred back to the surgeon who did my INTACS I'm really interested that your son has been suggested Crosslink...

Re: A tarnished reputation

Hi Andrew i know this is an old post, but the issues you mention have happened to me on numerous occasions. If I listed all my examples I would bore you all to death..... I have often thought of complaining & think about all the elderly or disabled patients who don't have the internet or strengt...

Re: New here!!!

Hi EL18 I'm a food technologist & have KC. I hope I can give you a few hints. On the dry eyes, try to get your vitamin A from food, rather than supplements - Vitamin A is also known as retinol. Good sources of vitamin A include cheese, eggs, oily fish (such as mackerel), milk, fortified margarin...

Re: Contact Cleaning Solution

Hi

i was given Boston solutions, but was told no need for saline, but it made my eyes nip.

I now clean, then rinse with saline before conditioning and it seems to be working well

Re: On waiting list for Intacs

Hi guys Sorry for the delay in replying You are asking all the right questions: I was off for a week, the procedure is straight forward, but I was allergic to the drops they give you after - I think it was the antibiotic drops You only have mild pain for a few days, then its just adjusting to the IN...

Re: Advice required please

Hiya This sounds so familiar. I had to fight for 2 years to get my GP to refer me to a hospital, then the hospital lost all my records & i was struck of their register. After many years or numerous phone calls & letters I finally got INTACS surgery & with a hard lens & glasses I have...

Re: Having stitches removed!!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya When I got my stitches out, the thought of it was worse than the procedure. Its not painful just a bit "strange". I must admit I broke out into a cold sweat, but after some more drops & a few minutes yoga style deep breathing to compose myself I was fine. Honestly, its really not ...

Re: Is this normal after INTACs operation?

Hiya I had INTACS in Oct last year & I have very sensitive eyes. It turned out that it wasn't the INTACS that gave me post op side effects, it was the drops they had given me - I was allergic to them & they made my eye very red & blurry Cool water & sunglasses helps, but try not to o...
