Now, I have done a lot of research and understand that they take some getting used yo comfort wise. What I didn't expect was a serious reduction in quality of vision. My left eye is significantly...

Re: Cross-linking clinical trial

Hi, i was just wondering if there are places in the uk already offering epi on cxl? Ive had epi off cxl on my left eye, but my right eye is still very strong. However this weekend my optician has said it might be time to have cxl performed on it, as the KC is progressing. But id rather take the leas...

Re: Cross-linking clinical trial

1. If you were eligible for this trial, would you be keen to participate? Yes. Im considering having my right eye done, as its getting worse slowly but surely. I was thinking of having the epi on version this time, as it sounds slightly less risky 2. If you weren’t eligible (e.g. KC too advanced, ri...

Re: Anyone else in the same boat?

Jezza, so sorry to hear that mate. It really sucks, but keep your chin up and I hope things get better for you. It really gives me perspective, of when Ive been feeling almost suicidal lately- that people like yourself, are doing a great job, dealing with much much worse situations of this condition...

Re: The next step?

Liam, are you sure that the new technologies of the surgically implanted lenses (artisan lenses, STAAR ICLs, etc) cannot work for you? epik Unfortunately I think thats the case. My consultant was very keen on the idea of an implantable contact, until they did a test which ruled it out as an option ...

Re: The next step?

Hi Liam, I wonder if you have examined with your surgeon the idea of treating the cross-linked eye through the t-PRK laser method, in order to reshape the cornea... In the very near future, almost all vision KC problems will be resolved by the use of specific Implantable Contact Lenses . It is a ma...
