"Mum what does a cornea look like?" from Charlotte

Random things to do at breakfast - when your daughter asks what a donor cornea looks like and you find yourself cutting a tiny round piece off a roll of clingfilm for her to look at and touch and you hope that its about right because you've not ever seen a cornea before :?

Charlotte had appt with cornea specialist yesterday

Well it's 7 weeks and 4 days since Charlotte's hydrops (left eye) and 9 days since the clearing/healing process really kicked in. Every couple of days her left eye looks clearer and Charlotte is seeing more out of it, albeit thru the top bottom and sides as she describes it. All that remains visible...

Specialist said graft for Charlotte looking likely

Hi, Well Charlotte saw Mr Stewart at Hull Eye Clinic this morning. We had a long talk with him (prob over ran re clinic times  ) He said that he expects her eye to remain cloudy for a while yet (no surprise there) and that he would expect the scar to be "right in the middle" with &qu...

Re: Registrar said its the worse hydrops he has ever seen

Thanks Gareth. I have had a soft contact in by Char's first Optom to get her to see me have something in but never an RGP. worth a go tho. I have today found the icf page on face book which I shall have a good read of. thanks again to all your support. I don't know where we would be without it. Angie

Re: Registrar said its the worse hydrops he has ever seen

I agree with what you wrote re the comments from the Dr yesterday and varying degrees of hydrops he May or May not have seen in the past. I did kind of bite my tongue when he said it, not least of all because it wa...
