Re: KC Old Timer - Advice Needed
Dean, I have always had a lot of scarring and could never wear a contact lens in my left eye because of that. However, I had a DALK done with Sheraz Daya and though it was five years ago can now see four lines with a kerasoft lens when I only saw a blur of colour before. It took a long time for my e...

Re: Down's sydrome and Keratoconus
I use Systane day and night before and after I have been wearing lenses. It really helps with any dryness! I also use Blink eyedrops in the day, which you can use with a lens in. Just make sure that you buy the contact lens one. Pulling your eyelash can be a way to move the lens a little, maybe beca...

Re: Facebook
I have added a link to us on my facebook page and it was noticed by a school friend of mine who I didn't know had KC! She is now a member here.
It is a good idea as young people especially will find us easier. You are more than welcome to add a link to us!

Re: new and desperate
Alexandra, I am so sorry to read how those who we ask to help us are still bad at doing so because of mental health issues. I really hope that you can get this sorted at your next appointment, Lou has replied with some really good points! There are loads of lenses and I always say to others to try t...

Re: I need information please
Allie, Hello and welcome to the forum! I am sorry that you have had such a bad time with your KC. Sadly it is a long waiting game when you are healing from a graft and everytime stitches are removed your vision changes. This really upset me as well following a graft with individual stitches. Five ye...

Re: Advice needed
Hi there and welcome to the forum! I hope that at his first consultation in Feb they will do a topography scan which will show them how advanced the KC is and if it affects both eyes. This is a good base line for future care as he will be able to tell if it is getting worse. KC does stabilise, my ri...

Re: Which hospitals are KC 'centres of excellence'?
I count my KC as mild as I can see very well with lenses, without them I am like Gareth in that I just am not safe to drive! I can see just enough to get about, though it is frustrating trying to see well and I suffer with a lot of headaches because of this. Stats on centres of excellence sound like...

Re: London KC social
I really hope that I can make the committee meeting and dinner! That is if 'Button' decides to stay put and doesn't make an early appearance!! I will be 37 weeks! :P It would be really nice to meet up with people before we have loads of sleepless nights with a little one! Though I am sure that...

Re: My Cross Linking Experience after Intacs
Charlene, That is a lovely positive post! Am so glad that everything has gone so well and that you coped with it. Hehe, being handed drinks sounded good to me!! LOL!! I really hope that your eyes continue to heal well, I think it is a good investment as well. I have had a DALK, didn't really look in...
