Hi John, Not teaching you to suck eggs or anything because you seem to be doing a mighty fine job keeping the site up. However, knowing from bitter experience, if your server is complaining about the heat then do *anything* you can to ensure its get cooled down. (are you sucking yet!?) At the last c...

Thanks all for your help. It kind of backs up what I have been thinking already - that the transplant is still the 'last resort' and intacs may help me to see better, hopefully getting me out of my lenses. I've kind of got over the sick feeling now :) and I am looking forward to seeing what the spec...

Intacs - inserted with or without laser?

Hi, Following the suggestion from my KC specialist last week that my options really came down to Intacs or transplant, i've been trying to find out as much as I can about both procedures. Intacs - I understand that the 'tunnels' for them to sit in can be created by knife or laser, laser having the b...

Hi Andy, Welcome to the site. I can sympathise with you as I too had the fitting from hell with my first pair of contact lenses. Strangely enough I had KC at that point, but my optician at that point hadnt spotted it. I was determined to perservere back then as being around the age you are now (im n...

Thanks for your responses guys :) Up until the beginning of this year I was blissfully happy with my softperm lenses. Always in the back of my mind was the dislike of them by optometrists (a last choice lens rather than a first choice) but for me they have been really comfy and my sight good enough ...

Well I dont know why you're wearing contacts...

Hi all, Hope you are all well and seeing to you best :D After a years break from having a specialist check my KC, I went for a check up at Leicester yesterday. They took my case history = basically i've had KC since I was 18 or 19, now 34, lots of contact lenses between then and now, plus a couple o...
