Re: Intacs update
I just got back from appointment number 2 of the week (opticians) and my astigmatism has gone back to -7.00. Apparantly a change of -5.00 in two days!! My optician is so understanding, but the dialogue is pretty much the same each time. Optician: "is it beter with lens 1.....or 2....1.....or 2?...

Re: Intacs update
My optometrist seemed to think they would be as good as glasses. For me personally, my scleral lenses were always better than glasses as they helped flatten my cornea. She seemed to think this wouldn't happen as they were soft.

Re: Intacs update
Ok....I've just returned from appointment number one and here's the update. The hospital did a topography of my eyes and the right eye (intacs eye) has improved since the surgery. Although still fairly steep there is now just one peak as opposed to my eye looking like a D of E expedition across the ...

Intacs update
I'm nervously awaiting a few appointments this week. Three weeks after my operation and I have an appointment wth my hospital, optician and surgeon all in the space of a few days. The glare seems to have gone back to being bad again - at the moment it is the same as my non intacs eye. I have noticed...

Re: My Intacs Experience
Thanks for all the advice. I have managed to stop the winking so post office guy has lost interest
My school children asked what I'd had done and I said I'd had something special put in my eye to spot naughty children - they actually looked quite convinced!!

Re: My Intacs Experience
Well I wish I'd heard of this earlier. I will have to hold out for the eye fairy visiting me next time!! It's now been a week since my intacs and I've returned to work today. My right eye is now quite blurry and the optician said this was normal at this stage, but strangly enough I have had moments ...

Re: Brill
Since being looked after at the hospital I have only to spend £45 per lens. The good thing about it is that I have only had to pay if they have completely worked for me. I usually take the lens away for about a month to trial them before they have ever asked for any money, so I would ask about this,...

Re: My Intacs Experience
Thank you to everyone who's responded! Karl - your personal account has helped a lot. I had my eyes tested this morning and the vision was not as good as he day after the operation and is still a little misty. My optician explained that as I have upset my cornea it will feel misty until it recovers ...
