Pink Trial Lenses

Following my last visit to the hospital last week they let me bring the pink trial lenses that they ordered in while the final ones are manufactured. As I have just started to piggy back one eye. I am not sure if it’s safe to use them for an extended period as I am unsure what they are like for oxyg...

Re: started Piggy Backing today

Thanks for the replies both. Day four Handling getting a bit easier. Seem to find the tip of dunking the finger in the solution and pulling it out quickly works well thank you. As they are no use to any one else they let me keep them till the proper ones arrive. Vision wise getting ne...

immune suppression

As I am on my death bed with man flu  it got me thinking about immune suppression. Came to mind when reading the news on the synthetic cornea. What sort of things do you have to take after a 'normal graft' and what if any special precautions do you take 

Re: Interesting Article regarding Corneal Grafts

From another site. Out of the 10 done 6 got better vision, 2 the same and 2 worse. Don't bin your RGP's just yet "The implanted corneas were not completely smooth and so the hard contacts forced the corneas to conform to an even surface, improving the ability to focus. The irregularity was like...

Re: ClearKone is here! any one tried them?

Rats had a look on the No7 website and my eyes are to far gone. The power ONLY goes as far a -15D and I am up at the -25 mark (you have to :) ) . Still good luck to anyone else who is suitable, Guess I'll keep pushing the nice lady at the hospital to give me a Piggy Back. Stand alone RGP is driving ...

Re: ClearKone is here! any one tried them?

Thanks for the post. Had I look at the websites but cannot see any reference to them being in the UK yet. Are they only available private or have they made it in to the NHS system.

As a secondary point do lenses have to be cleared by NICE before they are available on the NHS ?
