Re: DMEK experience
Yes its a problem in many parts of the country with both public transport and cabs, there's a shortage of drivers. Hospital transport is also being rationed, my dad had orthopaedic surgery at a private hosp an hours drive away (but done under the NHS), and they wanted to charge £40 each way. The onl...

Re: DMEK experience
What do you do at night when you can't get to A&E because your good eye has said enough for today with your lens, so you can't navigate?! Cabs are not readily available still because of shortages from covid, and they can't stop outside my block because of roadworks, then Moorfields can't get cab...

Re: Space cadet help please!
Really hard, ranges from uncomfortable to agony, eye closed most of time, costing a fortune in cabs to get to A&E.
Feeling despondent

Re: DMEK experience
Yes I'm continuing with eye shield, tape is hard on the skin.
I'm using my own blood, Dr gave me lancets for that.
I'll talk with my team next week about autologous serum drops.
I don't know if re-bubbling will still go ahead week after.
This filament condition is really awful

Re: Space cadet help please!
I believe you had blepharitis too? My lid started to look swollen, bit red, itchy, plus more gink with 4 lots of drops, trying to gently remove excess with a cotton bud (I can't find sterile buds to buy). I'm using lid wipes, the warm compress, and have an eye specific microwave one. The only thing ...

Re: Space cadet help please!
After removal, did you experience severe pain after? At a different A&E (staying with family) they said it could hurt for 48 hours. Asked if I was taking painkillers but nothing touches it other than local anaesthetic
