Surgery questions

I have been considering looking into surgery more and more recently. I tried RGP's a few months ago unsuccessfully. My vision is not terrible, but my left eye has a lot of the KC smudging/blurring, and my right eye has only a little of it. I have a really hard time with the focus between my eyes. It...

Re: After a few months in RGP's...

Wanted to update my situation... I went in for an appointment today, and we both felt that going back to soft lenses is my best option for now. We tried SO hard for months to make the RGP's work, but just couldn't get past the complications I was having, and soft lenses were really my best option ri...

New treatment for KC?

I came across this on another keratocus forum. I don't know much about it, or how it relates to other surgeries, but let's hope it's a promising new discovery. There doesn't appear to be a lot of info about it on this site, but the person who wrote about this on another forum said that there was a s...

Re: Do I have more than KC??

Val-I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. That flash of light thing sounds very strange (I guess a lot of what we deal with is). I thought of another one that I left out. I've noticed recently that if I just look at something and stare at it, it seems to move a little bit almost in a wavy motion. I...

Do I have more than KC??

I have a lot of strange eyesight sensations that I get, and I wanted to describe some of them and see if they are things other people have, or if they are something to worry about that could be bigger problems. I'll explain some of them... I like to run, and when I do so, when I land on the ground, ...

Re: Declaring an interest in a contact lens company

Thanks for your interest in helping me Lynn. I will mention what you said to my doctor. Is the muscle balance thing something that can be treated or helped somehow? I'll see what he has to say about it. I understand what you said about the lenses too. I hope that, if they are a significant help for ...

Re: Declaring an interest in a contact lens company

Lynn-Your input and work with the company are greatly appeciated by all :) I would love to offer my services to helping people with KC if I could in any way. I am very interested in learning anything more about the Silicon Hydrogel lenses for KC that anyone knows. I have recently been fitted for my ...

Re: After a few months in RGP's...

Yeah thats good advice. I'll give it a shot. I have been using both Boston Cleaner and Solution. I recently bought a bottle of Clear Care Solution, so I'll open it and try it. The only strange thing is how the haziness only happens on the left lens. Makes me wonder if it's something with that lens o...

After a few months in RGP's...

I haven't been able to get what I wanted from them. Main problems are: 1) My left lens (my bad KC eye) always has a hazy/cloudiness when I have the lens in. It is really annoying, and we haven't been able to fix this. 2)My eyes are EXTREMELY light sensitive with them in, much moreso than without. It...

Re: Intacs update

Do you think that silicon hydrogel lenses will be made to suit people with KC? I am curious as to whether they would be able to provide adequate vision.
