Re: Treatment with laser

Thanks for all the info and advice on this topic. I have decided to give the Synergeyes KC lenses a try, and put the surgery on hold for now. I was fitted for the lenses yesterday, and pick them up a week from Monday. So I'm gonna see how the lenses work for me, and then either stick with the lenses...

Re: cost of collagen cross linking?

Grifteruk-thanks for the information. That's helpful. I found out that Emery Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia is doing a trial study of CXL. It is not free however, and would require me to drive up there for like 6 post-op visits, and its quite a distance from where I live. I'm not sure if I'll be abl...

Re: cost of collagen cross linking?

Oh I see...I wasn't aware that it is not available in the U.S. yet. Well, that price estimate was still good to get an idea of how much it will be, assuming its made available before too long. That price you mentioned was for one eye right?

cost of collagen cross linking?

Does anyone know how expensive the surgery is? Only problem is, I live in the US and would like to know in US dollars (I'm not sure how to convert it). I'm also interested in the cost of collagen cross linking with PRK. Thanks

Re: Keratoconus frustration

I can sympathize with you, Alice. The past 4 or 5 years have been a waiting game for me too, with no relief. Well, I only found out I officially had KC a year and a few months ago, but since then I've been trying different lenses, RGP's, talking to the surgeon about surgeries, etc. Everytime, I have...

ice pack on eyes=good

I bought one of those ice pack eye mask things a few days ago, and I have to say it is the best thing I have done for my eyes yet since I got KC :D I use the computer all day at work, and I was dealing recently with a lot of soreness in and around my eyes. The ice pack has helped this immensely. I m...

Do you think Silicon Hydrogel lenses will be available in US

I am aware that the Kerasoft 3 lenses won't be available, at least for a while in the US. But do you think that other companies in the US will make similar lenses for patients here if the Kerasoft 3's are very successful? Really wish I could get my hands on a pair of Kerasoft 3's to try, so now I'm ...

Synergeyes lenses?

Anyone tried these and have anything positive/negative to say about them? I'm looking to maybe try a softer kind of KC lens (since I had lots of problems with RGP's) before I resort to surgery. I would love to try the new Kerasoft 3's as well, but unfortunately I don't think that will be possible si...

Re: soreness behind eyes

We tried fitting different RGP's for a few months. The fit seemed good, but the problem was, they really made a lot of my problems worse, I felt. The light sensitivity was increased to where I couldn't even open my eyes outside if it was at all sunny. I got slightly better vision in my left eye, but...

Re: soreness behind eyes

Thanks for the reply. My job is staring at a computer all day. I think thats one of my big downfalls. I try to take regular breaks to rest my eyes, but they still feel weary by the end of the day (sometimes it doesn't take long). About my prescriptions, I didnt' have any luck with RGP's. My eyes are...
