i have freinds who call me 'panda eyes' because i wear big sunglasses all year round- even if it is almost dark... as a result the sun never reaches the skin around my eye and that area stays pale ... i have recently resorted to a fake-tan in this area to reduce the effect!!!

none i know of.... however we can all protect our eyes from damage such as scarring and ulcers by following a good hygiene routine, and by listening to your eyes... if they are sore- take the lenses out etc...

after my graft i would tape the dressing on, then the hard eye protector thing, then tape a piece of plastic over the whole lot. I used nappy bag plastic as it is nice and thin- i never got a drop of water in my eye.....
but the hairdresser sounds like a good idea too... enjoy the pampering!

i once poured milk all over my new boyfriend's mothers dining room table- i was trying to help by pouring the tea!!!! ha ha ... it's funny now, but was pretty embarrassing at the time!

hi all, I also had a similar probelm with the soft lens 'rippling' on the edges. it happened when my cone increased. the old 'Acuvue oaysys' was too stiff and couldn't follow the steeper curve. My optom changed me onto a more 'floppy' lens which is much harder to put in and tends to turn inside out ...

Hi Lia, I have been using Piggy-backs for 5 years now (although only in one eye now that i have had my transplant in the other eye). oh dear... maybe it is the lifting of heavy things as well!
