Moorfields Eye to Eye Walk

Each year Moorfields organises this walk from the main hospital in City Road to the London Eye. You can chose the 4 or 14 mile option. For the last couple of years we have had a small KC team covering the longer route. It is very attractive staring out along the Regents Canal. Last year it diverted ...

Re: My experiences (2 operations) as a man with funny shaped eyes

Hi Cobble, I have raised the profile of the "Member Stories" page on our main website and included your story. I hope that's OK with you, please let me know if it's not. You can find the page here: https://www.keratoconus-group.org.uk/index.php/category/member-stories/ Thank you for sharin...

Re: Photosensitivity suggestions

Your post reminded me of a lady who visited the KC desk at Sight Village. She wore a pair of brown over glasses that completely boxed in her prescription glasses. I tried them on and they completely covered the top and sides. I thought she said that she got them from Moorfields but I can't find them...

Re: Grafts - good experiences?

I hesitate to sound complacent but I feel you need a good experience to balance out the comments. I had a graft on my left eye in 1986 and it is difficult to remember the specifics. What I can remember is that I was back working within a week or so and there was an immediate relief in only wearing o...

Re: Crosslinking on a healthy eye

I would just like to reiterate what Lia said and concentrate on the positives. If you look at our committee (https://www.keratoconus-group.org.uk/index.php/committee/) each member has experienced one or more of the problems you fear, yet all have had successful careers despite the difficulties. The ...

London Meeting Saturday 6th October 2018

After such a successful conference in Birmingham, we are looking forward to our next meeting at which our guest speaker is Dan Gore, Cornea Consultant at Moorfields. He will be talking about Cross Linking and his work on a CXL risk calculator. This promises to be a fascinating talk followed by our u...

I agree, I'm looking for pictures like this to put on our website. It would be good to know the story behind it.

Re: 3D printed human corneas are a reality!

Interesting, my first graft had continuous stitches that were removed in one go and that is the best one. My second had individual stitches that were removed two at a time and that has left an astigmatism of 7 which is managable.

Good luck.

Re: 3D printed human corneas are a reality!

Thank you Rob, I have attributed the post to you. We have only recently updated our website and can now post news instantly, so its good that members like you alert us to this kind of development. On the subject of grafts, I'm afraid I am biased but they have been the best thing that has happened to...
