Re: No Lenses For 2 Weeks

I just wanted to say good luck to both of you for your two weeks without lenses. I had to go without lenses for a month in the early nineties and it wasn't easy living in a blur. Don't be afraid to ask family for friends for help and do expect to be asked innumerable times 'Why can't you just wear y...

Details of the trial were included in the latest newsletter but I see that Moorfields have also posted information on their website:

Re: How can I stop Double vision?

Hi Emma-Jayne, When you say that you are suffering with double vision do you mean that your eyes aren't working together? Or do you mean that each eye is producing double vision? If it is each eye that is producing the double vision then this is probably due to astigmatism. It may be that new glasse...

Re: Prescription query from a newbie

I can't find any glasses that will take lenses at -5.5 & -6.0 CYL! It might be worth asking your optician if they can suggest some glasses for you. A few years ago I ordered a pair of glasses and a few days later I was rang up the opticians. They said could I choose another frame as, due to the...

Re: Sleep issues, article related

I think that there are still many unknowns about KC. "what happens to our older keratoconus patients?" I've heard this before, it was mentioned at a KC group meeting a few years ago although the speaker didn't have an answer as to why they no longer appeared in his clinics. "we observ...

Re: Quick question about prescriptions

Hi Jayden, Welcome to the forum. The two prescriptions do seem to be a different. Is this the full prescription? I would have expected that you would also have had a cylindrical correction to correct the astigmatism caused by KC. The -0.25 sphere means that eye is very slightly shortsighted and that...

Re: Post IOL surgery lens fitting

A large amount of time was spent working out the extra parameters to cope with my advanced KC and it quirks. So here is hoping it all seemed good at the fitting. The proof will be in the pudding as they say. I do hope the lens works for you. My right eye has sometimes been a challenge to fit and it...
