Hi Sweet, I understand that smoking is bad for ya health, I have my op in a few days, and I will NOT be smoking after the op at all! gonna lock myself in the house fopr a few weeks, my question is .. if its ok to smoke in the days running up to the op? Could it seriously affect the healing etc? Muz

Is it wise to be smoking following up to a graft? Can it affect any part of the procedure?

having it done where I live, Black Royal Infirmary, the surgeon I beleive is Dr Nylandah, im sure no ones heard of him on this forum tho!

hey Andrew ... they've moved the graft to 18th may as that was the earliest a donor would become available, had my pre op assesment, which went all smooth, now i got a few weeks to enjoy the spring weather .. well what there is of it !

thanks for your replies, I have a pre op assesment on thursday so i'll be asking the nurse my questions, regarding a PK or a DALK, I have no idea ... I think it wiill be a full graft coz I do have very deep scarring and alot of it!

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply, I can live without training for a few months, but I dont think I could live without ever training again as its a natural partt of my daily life!

My graft is on the 6th April, hoping all goes well :)

Hi With a graft due soon, I was wondering if there was anyone on here who has had a graft, and carried on with their weight lifting after their operation? And if they did, how long they waited.
