Re: Pellucid Dystrophy
Hi Harker, I am another with PMD, along with keratoconus. My vision was never good and deteriorated sharply during childhood. It stablised during my 20's and early 30's then deteriorated again from about 35. Everyone is different though and I was much more severe than you at your age. I found sclera...

Re: post graft further treatment
Originally, bwhen we made the decision to go ahead with grafts, my opthomologist had expected to have to do further ops to reduce the shortsight.
To me that is part of the process of gaining decent sight.
Good luck with it!

Re: Another generation
Congratulations on the birth of your Grandson old fellow, whoops- I mean Andrew  Lovely too that he has been named after you. Is Andrew the first grandchild? I am sorry to read your son has KC. My eldest child, a boy, has mild KC and my youngest, a girl, has just hit puberty and has sight probl...

Re: Opinions please
*the Lib leers cheekily but blindly at Cecil* No I am sad, but accepting, about the reduction. Afterall, the Doc did say 'I can't tell you wether you will end up with more, less or about the same vision'. My mother (mothers!!) has been nagging me to have it checked so I thought I would seek other op...

Re: Opinions please
That was quick! Thanks Ian. I have had sudden increases in the other eye (though I am still legally blind in it). Everytime there has been any change it has been sudden so it seemed a bit like I don't complain when I have a sudden increase but I do went I have a sudden decrease (If you know what I m...

Opinions please
I had a full thickness graft 12 months ago. I gained very little sight. A few wekks ago I experienced a sudden drop in that little bit of vision. No redness, no pain, no increased light sensitivity just vision loss. I have had rejection issues with the other eye and am on steroid 4 times daily to re...

Re: Contact Lens Problems
I don't blame you not wanting to give up on your vision. Being able to drive and the independance and freedom that comes with driving is immeasurable. Is it possible to take a bit from both 'wrolds'? Could you do things like accept some assistance while still battling to improve your vision? While y...

Re: Contact Lens Problems
I am afraid I don't have any suggestions re the contact lens. However, I am another white cane user so I thought I would add my comments to Lea's. I have been really struggling with keeping my vision at a functional level for years. As part of that I have had tow transplants, 12 months and two years...
