Re: Redness after removal of Scleral Lens?
I have a the same issue. I am working with the lens fitter to resolve the fit. If you look closely when the lens it in you may see one or more white bands (it's called blanching) Mine is caused by the lens being a little tight at two spots so it pinches the veins in the sclera. When you take the len...

Re: Coming Soon
Hi Don't know if there is much preparation you can do other than keep yourself away from coughs and colds. It you wear a contact lens in that eye take extra care not to get an infection before the op so be on top of your lens hygiene. As for the op its self it not a big deal (I didn't think so anywa...

Re: Kerriconous and cataracts
Hi Natalie I had a cataract form after a graft as a result of the steroids, the operation was straightforward enough. I still have some astigmatism so when I was with the consultant on Monday he took out all the remaining stitches. The plan now is to let the eye settle down then swap the lens out fo...

Re: New RGP user. Advice needed
Might be worth visiting the eye clinic at the LRI. I go there and found the fitters to be very good. Appointment times are not as convieniaint as if you go private but your not faced with a big bill at the end.

Re: Which lenses ?????
Hi Gareth To be fair to the hospital they didn’t try a soft lens after all the sutures came out and the cataract was done (I still have a couple of compression sutures in after the astigmatic keratotomy they did with the cataract). They have been very good and when I spoke to them they made an appoi...

Re: Which lenses ?????
Your right Grant piggy backing is very comfortable I tried it pre graft for a few months. Not sure if it's suitable post graft though. The problem with two lenses is it cuts down the oxygen supply to the cornea. This can lead to blood vessels growing into the cornea (Corneal neovascularization) and ...

Re: Which lenses ?????
Hi Paul I will have had my graft three years ago on May. While I had some of the sutures in the hospital gave me Daily disposables. Very comfortable. Only problem was I developed a cataract ( because of the steriods) so they took the sutures out before they did the cataract op. Unfortunately that le...
