Re: Private or NHS for Contact Lenses
Hi, can't really provide advice as I am just at the start of my own experience. However having to wait 8 weeks for a hospital appointment on NHS is probably one of the downsides I have already noticed...

Re: Private or NHS for Contact Lenses
All sound advice and questions I mostly certainly need to pose /consider when I visit the optom/hospital. After an intital talk with the optom he preferred me going to NHS as that will mean he will have a wider range of lenses to use for me (odd as I would have thought it be the other way around). I...

Re: Private or NHS for Contact Lenses
Andrew - thanks. my consultant advised that if I go private or NHS I will be sent to the same optician as he is the only one in my area so I guess my decision is made for me, i go NHS. I will see how this goes and if the lens fits ok.

Private or NHS for Contact Lenses
Hi, now that I have seen a private consultant who has confirmed I have KC, I need to decide if I go NHS or Private for my contact lenses.
The obvious difference is cost but to be honest I do not know what is the best option. Would appreciate some advice from anyone?
Kind Regards

Re: 30 and diagnosed with KC
Yes I guess you are right. I am also to blame for being very lazy with glasses alone let me trying CL. I guess I wont know until I try. I guess when I read that I may not be able to drive etc it scared me. At the moment my left eye is strong (touch wood) which is letting me lead a normal life but if...

Re: 30 and diagnosed with KC
Thanks guys - that is very reassuring. I fully agree that my good eye has masked my left eye and in fact now that I have been diagnosed with it and cover my good eye it is so obvious that my eye sight is so much weaker. I have also been diagnosed with bad astigmatism so that was always the excuse I ...

30 and diagnosed with KC
Hi, I am 30 (well 29 until May 10) and have just been told I have KC. The optician was very surprised to hear that I was never referred to a hosptial in the past. Does that mean I have always had KC? Been reading loads on net over the weekend, and a light worried to be honest. Only have it in one ey...
