Re: Post CXL Epi Off Recovery - Advice Needed
Hi Anne, Thanks for your comments. Jennifer has had hydrops in both eyes, worse in the left than the right and both corneas have scarring - again the left is worse than the right. The reason for having the CXL is to try and stop the progression as her eyes appear to be getting worse. Her corneas may...

Re: Post CXL Epi Off Recovery - Advice Needed
Hi Lia. Thanks for your insights about the glasses. Her vision is probably a lot worse than the glasses are prescribed for because when she wants to look at something she holds it about inch away from her eye. The glasses were only for when she watches TV or is doing activities at a table. The troub...

Post CXL Epi Off Recovery - Advice Needed
Hi All. It's been years since I posted anything. My 34 year old seriously intellectually disabled daughter was diagnosed with KC about 5 years ago. It's quite bad but due to her disability she has only had 2 eye exams under general anesthesia - the last being 18 months ago. She was prescribed -12 di...

Re: Keratoconus and Disabled Daughter
Hi All, Well, Jennifer got her glasses last week and even though she wasn't keen on wearing them she could obviously see better. I put on her fav DVD and sat with her to keep her from taking them off. After a couple of minutes she started looking around the room quite intently. She wore them for ove...

It would have to be Neil Armstrong for me. The first man to walk on a foreign world - how would you ever be the same again?

Re: New Diagnosis
Hi Dee Enjoy the wine and time out. You certainly sound like you need it. The early days for Jen were the worst but by week 2 she was feeling better - she couldn't tell us but she was sleeping more and not so grizzly. Hopefully David is going to feel better soon, too. He aslo may be feeling frustrat...

Re: Keratoconus and Disabled Daughter
Hi Guys Thanks for the info. I've used Celluvisc myself in the days after I had my Lasic surgery and my dry eyes were causing me heaps of problems. I haven't heard of systane drops so will see if they are available in NZ. I'll get samples of both and give them a try this weekend. I had a meeting at ...
