Re: CXL / Intacs / Keraflex
Hi munster I'll definitely let you know how it goes with the Intacs. Like you I've been struggling to get good vision with the lenses, particularly in the right eye. Hoping that the Intacs make it possible for my optometrist to get the lens to work. They think it's the inside surface of my cornea th...

Re: keratoconus research
Hi Anne
How about researching what actually causes KC? Bit ambitious I know, but if we can ever get away from treating the symptoms and treat the cause instead, it would be a massive step forwards.

Re: CXL / Intacs / Keraflex
Hi Samantha I've had CXL done under local - I was very nervous beforehand, but it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. As Andy said, I was given a vallium first, which helps to calm you down and the anasthetic means you can't actually feel what they're doing at all. You also can't see it because i...

Re: Famous People with KC?
I didn't know Mandy Patinkin had KC. He was in one of the greatest films ever - The Princess Bride.

Re: panic attacks
Hi sarkac KC has had a big impact on my life. I've had it since I was 14 (now 31) and it has steadily deteriorated. I also have a focussing problem with both eyes. I wanted to join the Navy when I was younger, but got turned down because of my vision. I haven't been able to drive at all for nearly 3...

Re: Anyone got any positive stories about Intacs?
Having re-read my own post, I should clarify - the fact that nothing is working is down to my eyes and other issues, not the skill or effort of Lynn who has persisted brilliantly and who is often as frustrated as I am.

Anyone got any positive stories about Intacs?
Hi I had CXL done in both eyes just over a year ago but I now need to have Intacs in the right eye. I've looked through this forum and seen quite a few stories from people who have had some bad experiences with them - from eyes pushing the Intacs back out, to them coming loose shortly after insertio...

Re: Piggyback lenses
Thank you all for the helpful advice.
I think I need to find out from the hospital which kerasoft lenses I've got at the moment. If they are not one of the new types then I can take it further and find out why they are not recommending them, or others designed for KC.

Piggyback lenses
Hi all I am new to this forum. I have had KC for 15 years, but it is becoming more of a problem now. I have not been able to drive for the past 3 months as the hospital cannot correct my vision any more with the Kerasoft lenses I have been using. I am currently trying RGP lenses for the second time,...

Re: Kerasoft lenses
Hello I am new to the Support Group and these forums. I have been treated at the Bristol Eye Hospital for 4 years now and have had Kerasoft lenses from them for almost the whole time without asking. When I first went to them they tried me on hard lenses but my eyes could not adjust to them. They the...
