Re: Moorfiels solutions policy

I think there is a range of issues which require us in as effective a way as possible to scream, shout and generally stamp our collective feet to draw maximum attention, Slowly Slowly which I have advocated before just is not, in my humble opinion doing the job. Mike Oliver I'd agree. I hope I tota...

Very possible that the lens has caused the scratch but more likely by the lens harbouring grit as Michael points out than the lens itself. One of the problems with lenses is that we train ourselves to ignore the soreness they cause so that we’re less likely to notice things entering the eye tha...

On the issue of lenses and increasing/slowing rates of progression - My KC has progressed rapidly since I started wearing contact lenses, but it was progressing before which is why I started wearing them. I think the first question to ask Brigid might be whether any attempt has been made in the UK ...

As a straight answer, I developed KC at about your age and had a corneal graft about 10 years later. Can't remember the exact dates. The results of the graft were excellent and I've not had any problems with it whatsoever. I've no idea how typical my case was; would be nice if we had access to figur...

1. does wearing contacts (RGP) aggravate the KC and cause further progression of the condition or does it stablise it by capping it? Has anyone (pre graft only) had the condition deteriorate suddenly after wearing lenses Steven, not sure if you saw the infamous locked thread but I think the positio...

Hello Sweet, you’re at least as sweet as your name. As of course are Gareth, Andrew and Jay. :) It’s always difficult for anyone moderating forums to know how robust discussions should be. As it happens I run a few websites one of which has around 10,000 visitors a day where the forums hav...

Sounds like everyone here has given you good advice. Would also say though that I wouldn't want you to get it into your head that surgery would be too terrible to face. On forums like this there'll be people who have been really unlucky. There are also people like me who had a graft years ago and it...

Ali, I don't think anyone here is getting at the way you personally do your job and certainly not me because I don’t know you.

If you don’t recognise that for you to sarcastically refer to our “learned discussionsâ€Â

I certainly wouldn't consider any of my views on KC as "learned" Ali. It's never been a subject of sufficient interest in my life. But I certainly recognise when someone is attempting to patronise and it's a habit that's less readily accepted on the internet I'm afraid.
