For me the important thing is to be aware of what can and can not be done. There is nothing worse than being told after several years that you could have done something that you were not aware of. This forum is very good for that. Someone has had an experience which can help, or information to refer...

Steven, I presume it is a full scleral. I have not heard of a mini scleral. So far I have just had the fitting. It will be a couple of months before I get one. I was very impressed when I had the fitting. My vision was substantially improved, although only to 6/9. When it was taken out I felt blind ...

A scleral lens is giving me at least 6/9 so I shall go with that. I have however asked about Kerasoft as I have not heard of it before. I presume they had already discounted it in my case.

Hi Gareth, Contact lenses are used for most eyesight conditions so it would seem the case that there would be far more optoms familiar with them. It is a pity that there are not more of them with Scleral lens experience because they would seem to be better suited to Keratoconus. The optical part of ...

Scleral Lens

There have been many references to Scleral Lenses but not much said about them. I have keratoconus in one eye and have had considerable trouble with hard contact lenses having had five lenses tried over nearly two years at Moorfields without success. I had double vision and considerable discomfort w...

Cissi, I was diagnosed 5 years ago at the age of 45. It has progressively worsened since then. I think you have been incorrectly advised, maybe to make you feel better (?). It does stabilize for a while every so often but it is unpredictable and will accelerate alarmingly over short periods before s...
