Re: Seriously considering CXL....

Hi I'm looking at all the options now following INTACS a few years ago I found this interesting article: http://www.healio.com/ophthalmology/cornea-external-disease/news/print/ocular-surgery-news-europe-edition/%7B235fec91-b1d1-4874-aa70-a8cfd950a15f%7D/corneal-cross-linking-shows-increasingly-good-...

Re: To all who have joined this forum recently

Hey Miss Milburn Here are a helpful few tips that I've accumulated over the years of having KC: Ask lots of questions at hospital appointments - and to other forum members - don't be shy :) Try not to rub your eyes, in fact never rub your eyes (easier said than done!) If you have allergies, try to g...

Re: To all who have joined this forum recently

Hey Miss Milburn Don't be too down. There are several options for treatment, more now than ever. You have come to the right place, the forum and the members are fantastic. I'm sure you'll be able to chat to someone about joining your local support group too When you go for your appointment, best to ...

Re: Intac Removal

Hi guys You can get a full ring or half ring, mine is just half as my cornea was too thin at the top to take a full ring. Basically would need a certain thickness before they will "risk" an INTACS Did your consultant say what had caused the growth? I can only give you my experience, and to...

Re: 22 Years On.. and its Advice Time!

Hi Forgot to say my recovery from INTACTS was a few days. It was the antibiotic drops that they gave me that made my eye sore and red. I was back to work the next week. We had prepared for longer and my partner took two weeks off work, but I was fine within the week :) One thing that you may already...

Re: KeraSoft IC

Thanks for the info. I got the feeling that NHS GGC were reluctant to offer them due to them needing to order a full set from the manufacture for fitting. Also, I heard that repeat prescriptions weren't consistent/accurate - Have you found your 3 monthly or annual lenses to be the same as each set o...

Re: Dry eyes - thera tears

Hi

I tried Systane as I could get my GP to prescribe them, but they seem to irritate my eye, but I have lots of allergies, but they may work for you - and you can get them on the NHS. They are available in a bottle or as individual ampule - great for keeping in your pocket/bag

KeraSoft IC

Hi

Does anyone have experience of KeraSoft IC lenses? Did you get them on the NHS, if not how much did they cost?

Thanks in advance

Re: 22 Years On.. and its Advice Time!

Hiya I'm same age and same time with KC as yourself. INTACTS isn't a miracle cure and Crosslinking might not be the best option for people of our age. INTACTS didn't improve my vision but allowed me to wear lenses, as they previously popped out I'm not sure if NICE approved these treatments on the N...

Re: Intac Removal

Hi guys Long time since my last post. I had my INTACT put in by Dr Ramesh in Glasgow 3 or 4 years ago. It didn't improve my vision but it did reduce the coning so that I could actually wear a lens - previously they just fell out I've just had an annual check up and all was OK, but since the INTACT I...
